Dianil-Penta Capsule
Quick Overview : An Ayurvedic Formulation for the Management of Diabetes
Product Description »

Introduction & Ayurvedic approach to Diabetes: According to Ayurveda, diabetes is a metabolic kapha type of disorder in which diminished functioning of digestive fire leads to a tendency toward high blood sugar.

Although Ayurveda recognizes that diabetics have insulin-use difficulties, it views this condition as part of a larger problem: a general imbalance in the body. In Ayurveda, there are three metabolic forces, or Doshas, called vata (air), Pitta (fire) and kapha (phlegm), All three Doshas exist in everyone, in proportions determined at birth that varies from person to person. Usually one Dosha predominates, even when a person is in equilibrium.

Each Dosha governs definite functions of the body and mind. In a healthy person, the Doshas vary slightly from day to day. However, problems can arise if your inherent Dosha proportion becomes imbalanced due to a lifestyle or diet that aggravates a particular Dosha. For example, if one is predominantly a kapha type & eat a lot of dairy foods, it will upset and increase the kapha in the system. Kapha is characterized by mucus and slowness, cool, moist properties such as cheese. Eat too much cheese and you increase the mucus, dampness and cold in your system; and, in other words, storm up with too much kapha.

When particular Dosha is balanced, our body readily turns food into energy. On the other hand, when Doshas are imbalanced, food doesn't digest properly, and kapha accumulates in the body. Kapha deposits in the tissues, disturbing the proportions of fat to protein. This eventually disrupts sugar metabolism.

Each Dosha is associated with different disorders. Diabetes is the classical kapha disorder, because an excess of kapha is responsible for a tendency toward physical inactivity, sluggish fat metabolism, water imbalance and weight gain. Ayurveda recognizes that both heredity and lifestyle play a role in diabetes. In short, people at risk for diabetes either have an instinctive tendency to experience more kapha in their lives, or they do things that aggravate kapha.

Causes of diabetes, according to Ayurveda:

• Overeating and resulting overweight.
• Excessive intake of sugar and refined carbohydrates
• Overloading of proteins and fats, into the system, which get converted into sugar.
• Too much tension, worry, anxiety & grief.
• Hereditary factors.

Ayurveda believes that, this disease occurs to rich people more than the poor, to fat persons in comparison to the thin, to mental workers in comparison to the manual laborers, to those who sleep during the day, to those who eat yogurt, meat, milk, cream and heavy diets in excess (especially, if person is Kapha type & he eats these types of food, chances are more. So, every person should know his constitution & eat accordingly, to prevent diseases). People with a strong history of diabetes are the people with an increasing risk of diabetes.

Symptoms

• Increased hunger and thirst.
• Unexplained weight loss or weight gain.
• Fast tiredness. Drowsiness. Low sexual urge.
• Possible anemia, constipation, itching over the body, palpitation.
• Slow healing of wounds.
• Frequent urination.
• Dryness of throat.

What complications can be seen, if diabetes is not treated in time?

Diabetes should be treated, as soon as it is detected. The earlier the better, since improperly treated diabetes can cause long-term complications - which involve following symptoms:

• Brain And Nervous system: Strokes and neuritis.
• Kidneys: Chronic renal failure.
• Eyes: cataracts and diabetic retinal involvement.
• Skin: Recurrent skin infections.
• Pregnancy: It can have damaging effects on the mother as well as the child.
It has been seen that the complications of diabetes are less if the patient is under Ayurvedic treatment.
Treating diabetes in Ayurvedic way:
• Ayurveda attacks diabetes using a multipoint approach. Steps of approach are as follows:
• Changes in diet.
• Eliminating sugar.
• Protein is limited, since excessive intake can damage the kidneys.
• Fat is also limited because, in diabetes, there is often a deficiency of pancreatic enzymes, making fat digestion difficult.
• Since many diabetics have autoantibodies, a cleansing program is also advised.

In ancient Ayurvedic texts, several herbs & herbo-mineral compounds have been described for the management of diabetes and its related disorders. Dianil Penta Capsule is one such Ayurvedic remedy based on the principals of Ayurveda. Dianil-Penta is a proprietary brand of Herbo-mineral formulation specially formulated as an ideal remedy for the management of Diabetes mellitus & its related complications.

Suggestive Dietary Regime for Diabetes Management:

  • Avoid excess intake of sweets, carbohydrates, and dairy products. Take more fresh vegetables and bitter herbs. Other useful foods include: roasted or fried barley, corn flour, light, bitter vegetables, barley porridge, rice used after frying, and herbs like cardamom, fenugreek, or coriander, mixed with honey. Barley is the main food to heal urinary diseases.
  • Eliminate all objects that contain sugar from diet, like wheat, rice, potato, sugar, sugar cane and its juice, sweet fruits. Reduce fats, especially butter and ghee from diet.
  • To control kapha in the body, eliminate sugar from diet. In Ayurveda, small amounts of honey are considered anti-kapha and fat melting. Use up to 2 or 3 teaspoons of raw, uncooked honey per day; cooked honey creates toxins in the body.
Low-fat, high-fiber vegetarian foods form the basis of any Ayurvedic diet. These foods also happen to be ideal for an anti-kapha, anti-diabetic diet, according. Eat mostly complex carbohydrates, which digest slowly over many hours and don't cause a drastic jump in blood sugar. Beans, legumes, tubers and root vegetables like turnips are best for balancing blood sugar. Whole, unrefined grains, particularly millet, barley and buckwheat, break down more quickly but are also staples of the Ayurvedic diet. Minimize intake of wheat, including whole wheat, because wheat has cooling properties, which increases kapha.

A number of foods available in the typical Western diet can contribute to blood-sugar imbalances or increase in kapha. Avoid eating highly processed foods such as white-flour products including bread and pasta --and sugary, fatty foods such as pastries, candy and ice cream. Reduce or eliminate red meat and dairy foods, particularly creamy and hard cheeses, from your diet. Chicken and fish are fine to eat in small portions.

Note:We do suggest that if you are on other medications including insulin, start Dianil-Penta Capsules and continue for a month along with it . After one month check your blood sugar levels and consult your physician to gradually reduce other medications/insulin.

General Precaution: It is generally advisable to keep all products away from children and to seek the advice of a physician when looking for the treatment or cure for any specific disease or disorder.
